Associated Student Government elections coming soon

Texas State University’s Associated Student Government will hold its student body election Tuesday, April 3, 2012 and Wednesday, April 4, 2012. The election will determine the student body president, vice president, senators, and graduate house of representatives for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The Associated Student Government (ASG) mission statement says “Our mission is to change the campus community through connecting, learning and serving. Our job is to represent you, the students (our peers) here at Texas state University and to our school system.” The entire mission statement can be found at http://www.asg.txstate.edu/ .

The ASG consists of sixty senators, all working for and with students. However, few students have seen the outcomes of ASG

The ASG holds meetings every Monday night at 7 p.m. on the 4th floor in the Lyndon B. Johnson Student Center Teaching Theatre. Meetings are open to the public, and students are encouraged to attend to voice their opinions.

In addition to open meetings, the ASG officers can also be found in their offices located at 4-5.1 in the Lyndon B. Johnson Student Center.

Students may vote at a poll in the quad or the Lyndon B. Johnson Student Center on voting days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or online. Online voting will be open from April 3 at 8 a.m. to April 4 at 5 p.m. The link to the voting website can be found on Texas State’s homepage at www.txstate.edu
