The one thing that every college student looks forward to during the spring semester is spring break. The place to go is Panama City Beach, Fla, sometimes referred to as “The Spring Break Capital of the World.”

There are events being hosted everyday during the spring break season including parties on the beach, concerts, contests, celebrity appearances, themed parties, a truck show and many more. The night life in PCB all happens on the strip which has many nightclubs, bars and restaurants.

Every year over 100,000 college and high school students flock to the sandy beaches of Panama City Beach, PCB, during March and April.

According to the Spring Break HQ website, this year there is expected to be around 250,000 students going to party for spring break 2012.

The hot spots to go to at night are Hammer Head Fred’s, Spinnaker Beach Club and Paradise Grill Restaurant, Karma and Club LaVela, which is the biggest club in America.

“The hot spot during the day was right behind Club LaVela,” Sarah Swartz, nursing junior.

Some of the daily events that take place on the beach are a huge party with a live DJ, a pushup contest, dance contest, tug of war, a dating game, an area to ride a mechanical shark, and frozen t-shirt contest.

“I participated in the pushup contest and the tug-of-war contest,” said Swartz. “I won and got a lot of great prizes.”

Aside from the parties, there were also many areas along the beach where spring breakers could ride jet skis and wave runners, rent beach chairs and umbrellas to lay out in the sun, go on dolphin tours and parasailing rides.

The atmosphere at PCB was one thing that everyone agreed on.

"Everyone was super nice and excited to be there," said David Salazar, business administration senior.

"Everyone was carefree and laid back, doing their own thing," said Le’Tesha McDuffie, business administration junior.

The weather proved to be great this past week, allowing all of the events to go smoothly.

"The weather was cooler during the morning and night but perfect during the day when we were on the beach," said Swartz.

Panama City Beach is a great vacation spot with many great things going on. There was a lot of good feedback from the people visiting.

"I am already planning my trip to come back next year," said Salazar.
